What is brand stewardship?

Brand stewardship means taking everything that already exists about a leader's or brand's identity and organizing it into one coherent voice, strategy, and plan instead of building something new from scratch. It's the term I use instead of "brand management," because management implies oversight from the outside. Stewardship means I'm protecting something that's already yours.
